Second-round pick Missura signs with Rebels

MAY 23, 2023

RED DEER – The Red Deer Rebels are excited to announce that Jake Missura, the club’s second-round pick at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.

The Rebels selected Missura with the 40th overall pick at the draft on May 11.

A native of Saskatoon, the 5’10 defenceman had 25 points in 26 games with the Saskatoon Bandits U15 AA this past season. The hard-hitting blue liner also had 100 penalty minutes.

“He’s got a really good skill set and he could be probably the best open-ice hitter, or the most physical defenceman in the draft,” said Rebels Associate General Manager Shaun Sutter. “He’s a big hitter and has that dynamic where he’s a hard guy to play against.”
