Rebels Add Prospect Goaltender From Seattle

RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the team has acquired 17-year old prospect goaltender Eric Ward from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a 7th round selection in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Ward is currently playing with the Edmonton Canadian Athletic Club in the Alberta (AAA) Midget Hockey League. He has played in 12 games this season with CAC, he has a record of 5-4-3, a goals against average of 3.42 and a save percentage of .907.  Ward played 2 preseason games with the Thunderbirds this fall; his record was 1-1-0-0 with a goals against average of 2.90 and save percentage of .913.

Ward will remain with the Edmonton Canadian Athletic Club team.
