2021 World Junior FAQ

The World Junior Hockey Championships are coming back to Central Alberta!  Red Deer and Edmonton will play host to the popular holiday season event in 2021.

What are the dates?

The tournament is tentatively scheduled to run Dec 26, 2020 – January 5, 2021.

What countries are involved?

The tournament field will be set upon completion of the 2020 event in the Czech Republic.  Edmonton will host all 10 games (Canada’s pool) from 1 pool, and medal round games.  Red Deer will host all 10 games of the other pool, 2 quarterfinal games, best-of-3 relegation round, and 2 Team Canada pre-comp games.  Nine other Pre-Comp games will be held throughout Alberta!

What are ticket prices?

Ticket details will be announced in Spring 2019.   With Victoria (2019 Pool B host) selling out 6 months in advance, we expect heavy demand for tickets!

How do I buy tickets?

Rebels Season Ticket Members will be guaranteed  the opportunity to purchase packages, starting in Spring 2019.  Season Ticket Members will be offered there seats, however a limited number may be required to relocate to accommodate event needs.  Public sales for the entire tournament will begin in fall 2019, process TBD.
