Rebels Acquire McCarty From Saskatoon

RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the acquisition of 20-year old forward Mason McCarty from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for the Rebels 2nd round selection in today’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

McCarty will be entering his fourth full season in the WHL.  He was originally a 4th round pick of the Rebels in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft and was traded to Saskatoon in the 2014-15 season.  In his career, McCarty has played in 156 games in the WHL, scoring 47 goals and 36 assists for 83 points.
