Dakers Leaves Rebels; Barnstable Joins Team

RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today that Goaltender Coach Taylor Dakers has been released out of his contract for the 2018-19 season to join the Prince George Cougars organization.

Dakers had been with the Rebels for the last five seasons, starting with the team in 2013.

Also announced today, Kraymer Barnstable has accepted the position as the Rebels Goaltender Coach.  Barnstable is a former WHL goaltender with the Rebels in 2009-10 and with the Vancouver Giants in 2007-08.  He also played with the Red Deer College Kings from 2013-16 in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

Brent Sutter – “I’d like to thank Taylor for his five years with the Rebels and wish him the best of luck in Prince George.  Looking ahead, we are extremely pleased to bring Kraymer on board.  He’s a former Red Deer Rebel and has done a great job establishing his goaltending training business in Central Alberta.  We know he will do a great job working with our goaltenders and the goaltenders on our protected list.”

Kraymer Barnstable – “I’m really excited to be back with the organization. Red Deer was my favorite place when I was a player, and to be back as part of the staff is incredible. I look forward to working with and developing the Rebels goaltenders and their prospects.”
