Cam Tait Joins Rebels As Web Contributor

The Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club is very proud to have Cam Tait on board as a web contributor this season.

Cam Tait will bring you the latest Rebel news when the team is on the road, filing game stories to the Rebel website 30 minutes after every road game.

Tait worked for the Edmonton Journal as a full-time reporter from 1985 to Aug. 31 of this year, and writes one free-lance column a week for The Journal. During his career, he wrote about the high-flying Edmonton Oilers of the late 1980’s and covered the Western Hockey League since 2004; in fact, his first major junior hockey assignment was covering a playoff series between the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Rebels. Tait has covered the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL and three RBC Cups — the Junior A hockey championship — since 2005.

One of Tait’s highlights with The Journal was covering the Rick Hansen Man in Motion World Tour for three months.

Tait has toured Canada as a motivational speaker and won Alberta’s Funniest New Comic in 1995, a contest hosted by Yuk Yuk’s.

He lives in Edmonton with his wife Joan.
